Rackspace was the most trusted website of the hosting company in May 2021, took first place for the third time in the last 12 months and appeared in the top 10 for 10 of the last 12 months. The top six hosting companies all responded to every Netcraft request and are ranked on average connection time. Rackspace had the lowest average connection time of the six, winning the title of the company’s most trusted hosting site in May 2021. Rackspace offers a variety of cloud hosting solutions from 40 data centers on five different continents in America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
The second place goes to NYI, which has also appeared on the 10 most trusted websites of the hosting company for 10 of the last 12 months. NYI offers bare metal, cloud and colocation services from the four data centers in the USA.
Positions 3 to 5 were separated with an average response time of just 4 ms and went to Bigstep, CWCS and Webair respectively. All three of these sites responded to every Netcraft request, as did ServerStack in sixth place.
FreeBSD came in second in May with NYI, with the remaining nine sites in the top 10 using Linux.
Netcraft counts and makes available the response times of some twenty top hosting provider sites. Performance measurements are made at fifteen minute intervals from individual points on the Internet and the average values are calculated during the immediately preceding 24 hour period.
From a customer’s point of view, the percentage of failed requests is more relevant than downtime on hosting companies’ websites, as this gives an indication of the reliability of the routing and that is why we choose to rank our table with the least failed requests, rather than the shortest downtime. If the number of failed requests is equal, then the sites are ranked on average link times.
