In the business world of 2021, authentic content marketing is more important than ever. Less than a month ago, I had not posted any content for several weeks.
Regardless of the content I “thought” I had to post, this simple change of perspective gave me new ideas for the purpose and intent behind my content. to come from a place of authenticity and show that I really care about other people.
It only takes a look at a coaching team on Facebook to get rid of well-written posts, with paragraphs, trying to sell the team audience. “I used to drive my Toyota Corolla, now I drive a Ferrari – see my new course on how you can do the same.”
While I acknowledge that this works for some, I consider it prey for the vulnerable, which certainly does not suit me. Just the thought of posting something like that makes me feel like I like it.
Social media is plagued by non-genuine characters who will do almost anything for money. Technically just a bad character appearance from them, but it also badly reflects the entire internet industry as a whole.

Create a connection
It does not take much scrolling to stumble upon an “entrepreneur” with an image of an exotic car alongside a supposed caption. Images like these are used by marketers to create envy and sell the dream to their beloved fans. What most creators do not realize, however, is that when they create posts like this, they lose the real connection to their audience.
Instead of posting about the car, instead of posting about the story of what got them there. Story is the most powerful way to influence, engage and inspire, which will tune in to your audience and create a real and lasting emotional connection.
By now, we all know that people work with those they know, like and trust. An added bonus of being authentic is that you will be able to tell the difference between what you really like and what you do not. Being authentic can make you vulnerable, as sharing personal stories can leave you open to criticism. This way, however, you can take advantage of psychological prejudices, such as probability bias, which creates a bond between you and your audience that they will not be able to help but inform their friends about.
The more people you really like, the more people who will naturally tend to work with you. Instead of focusing on your niche car in marketing, tell the story behind what it took to get there – many more people will love it.

It stands out from the crowd
There are dozens of posts on social media. Authentic, genuine and personal stories, on the other hand, are much less common. When someone tells us a true story, we are up to 22 times more likely to remember it, because we can hear it. Many people think that the best way to stand out is through crazy photography and graphics. While this certainly plays a role, authenticity is much stronger when it comes to breaking shape and appearance.
In my personal experience, I have found that the posts with the most dedication are those where I share an authentic story that means a lot to me. Remember, humans are emotional creatures. Combining wonderful photos with original subtitles, you will be sure to stand out and become more memorable.
In a world full of entrepreneurs and marketers who can all be honest, follow the authenticity of everything you do. As a result, you will build unbreakable bonds with your audience, stand out from your competition and, ultimately, be more successful. So go there, tell your truth and present yourself as your most authentic self.
